Hello blurtians , I hope you had a very fruitful week .here is a little about cash crops in my country . I hope this little I have done would be able to educate u on the various cash crops grown in Nigeria .

Nigeria my country was very popular in the 90s for their prowess in the agricultural sector , their major export products were of agricultural origin.
It is said that some countries like Indonesia came to Nigeria to take palm fruit seedlings,and today they are a major exporters of palm oil.
In my opinion our economy was more stable when we depended agricultural products as our major foreign export products. Nigeria is a country with a very large area of fertile land and have cultivated diverse numbers of cash crops.
Cash crops are crops which are cultivated to be sold or exchanged. So basically almost all crops cultivated are cash crops , my country produces quite a number of these crop which I'll talk about this write–up.
Some cash crops produced in my country are ;
Cocoa
It is a very profitable cash crop,cocoa is among one of Nigeria's leading export cash crop. The western part of Nigeria is the leading producer of cocoa.
Cocoa is processed to make different beverages and chocolates.
Rubber
Nigeria produces rubber , which is another cash crop that has diverse uses, which makes it a cash crop that is very much in demand .
Rubber is basically cell sap of rubber trees that is extracted. Delta state is the leading producer of rubber in the country
Tobacco
Tobacco production is a thriving enterprise in Nigeria . With cigarettes ever increasing demand ,the cash crop is also much needed in demand . Nigeria is actively involved with tobacco production.
Oil palm
In the 90 , I think it is the leading export product before the discovery of crude oil.
Nigeria is a very large producer or oil palm. Oil palm is predominantly produced in the southern and eastern part of the country where there is predominance of palm plantations.
Groundnut
It is a plant of the legume family , Nigeria also produces groundnut. It could be used as an appetizer in some meals . The northern region of Nigeria actively produces groundnut.
Cotton
Cotton is a very important cash crop as it is needed for the clothing and texile industry to function, production of cotton in nigeria start a long time ago. The northern and western regions of the country are the major producers .
Sorghum
Also known as guinea corn which it is popularly called in the country it's also a major cash crop produced in mostly large quantities in the northern region of the country.
Cassava
This is a very popular cash crop in Nigeria . It is processed majorly into garri( a local food in Nigeria which is the lifeline of students in Nigeria 😂). I am personally involved I the production of cassava , like other cash crops I has diverse uses. It is produced in all parts off the country.
Other cash crops produced in Nigeria but not limited to these are rice , carrots , maize .
