老吴其人其事 My Self Introduction

Below my post, Indian blogger @imransoudagar wrote:It would be amazing if you share more about yourself. This is my intention. I should write about myself, reveal my genuine self to my pals on blurt, and introduce myself to additional people. It could be better to use the term "Blurt Personality," but it was only a fleeting thought in my head, and I eventually abandoned the concept. I'm terrified of bragging about myself, and I'm not deserving of the term "personality," so I had to abandon it.

一、老吴其人（About the Man）

老吴，男，来自中国，生于1968年12月12日。喜欢英语、读书、写作、中国象棋，不嗜好烟酒，喜好喝茶、独坐、静思。不喜欢人多喧哗之地，更不喜欢扎堆吹牛胡侃。

生性善良敦厚，为人正直善良，待人真诚，乐于帮助需要帮助之人。心细、思维缜密，双重性格，有时乐观豁达有时多愁善感。

中专毕业后，分配至一家大型国营企业，后考入政府机关，工作至今。

没有进过大学的校门，甚至连高中都未上过，通过自学考试取得了英语专业专科、本科毕业证书，获得文学士学位。

Lao Wu is a Chinese man who was born on December 12, 1968. English, reading, writing, and Chinese chess are some of my favorite things to do. I dislike smoking and consuming alcohol, but I enjoy drinking tea alone and meditating. I despise situations where people are loud, and I despise gatherings where people brag.

I treat people with honesty and kindness, and I am willing to help those who are in need. I am cautious, optimistic, and open-minded, although I may be sentimental at times.

I was allocated to a huge state-owned firm after graduating from technical secondary school and then accepted to government organs through examination.
Despite never having attended a university or even a high school, I was able to earn an English major diploma and a bachelor's degree through self-study.

二、老吴其事（About His Deeds）

1.喜好英语，从初中时老吴就与英语结下了不解之缘，后一直坚持自学。可惜，一直是自学，未进入大学接受正规教育，虽三十多年过去，可也不能熟练掌握英语。只能如蚂蚁啃骨头，一点点努力。

一日不读英语文章，不看英语新闻，就好似丢失了什么东西，英语已成为老吴生命里的一部分。

好在正是凭着英语的学习，改善了自己家庭的生活，也使自己有机会进入了机关事业单位，有了更好的发展。

Lao Wu had an indissoluble bond with English since junior high school, and has been insisting on self-study since then. Unfortunately, I have not entered the university to receive formal education. Although more than 30 years have passed, I’m afraid that I haven’t mastered English well. Only like ants gnawing at a bone, I spare no effort to learn it bit by bit.

One day without reading English articles or watching English news I would feel like losing something. I know that English has become a part of my life.

Fortunately, it is thanks to English that I have improved my family's life and given myself the opportunity to enter organs and institutions for better development.

2.喜好中国象棋，曾研究象棋棋谱，可终因天赋有限，未有较大的棋艺提升。曾拿过全区中国象棋比赛亚军，不喜欢扑克之类的游戏，认为那是完全靠运气。而中国象棋完全凭的是实力，这也是我喜欢中国象棋的一个原因吧。

Though I like Chinese chess and even have studied the chess manuals, due to my limited talent, I haven't improved my chess skills. I once won the second place in the Chinese chess competition in the whole district. As to poker and other games, I think it's entirely by chance. Chinese chess depends entirely on strength, which is one of the reasons why I like it.

3.喜欢写作，曾在报刊发表过作品。喜欢静静思考，然后变成文字，发表在Blurt上，blurt这个平台更激励了自己写作的欲望。

I like writing and have published articles in newspapers and periodicals. Thinking quietly, then turning it into words and publishing on blurt whichis a platform that inspires my desire to write--this is my life.

4.待人真诚，乐于助人，看到你别人的痛苦也会因此而悲伤难过。从未干过有害于他人的事情，坦诚直率，最讨厌虚情假意、油嘴滑舌、卑鄙无耻之徒。

Sincere and willing to help others, I will be sad to see the pain of others. Iwould say that I have never done anything harmful to others. I am frank, and I hate hypocritical, glib, mean and shameless people.

老吴总是默默无闻，工作之余写作、读书、学习英语等，闲暇之时也会在网上与人大战一番中国象棋。或者，泡上一杯茶，静静坐着，思考着……

一杯茶，一支笔，一本书，一个人，这就是老吴的写照。

Always unknown to the public,after work, I write, read and learn English. In my spare time, I will also play Chinese chess with people online or make a cup of tea, sit quietly and think deeply.

A cup of tea, a pen, a book, an individual--this is the true picture of Lao Wu.
