Continued from HELPFUL TIPS FOR BUYING YOUR NEXT GREAT PHONE 1
E. AGE
This one is very important. The age of the phone determines how long it will be useful to you. That is if you will enjoy it for a long time or not.
IPhones - Don't buy an iPhone that is more than 5 years old. By then they have already forgotten the phone exists. So if iPhone 6 is entering your eyes, don't buy it. It was manufactured in 2015....😮.
Samsung - Don't buy Samsung phones either new or used that are also more than 5 years old. So Samsung Galaxy S8... Don't bother, Samsung has forgotten the phone exists.
All the rest.
Don't buy any other android phone of more than 2 years old. So any phone from 2020 is not for you, tecno and the brothers have forgotten about it. And they will not send any updates, no new features, nothing exciting.
F. SCREEN TYPE, SIZE , PROTECTION & SOUND QUALITY!.
These are also very important.
Let's start one by one.
-SCREEN TYPE
for now there are only 4 types of screens available.
- LCD
- LED
- MINI LED
- LTPO
Lcd is what most of us use. It Eats up more battery that's why tecno and Co gives us 6000 mah battery to sustain it. It's not good on the eyes as well. But with eye care, it's helping.
Led is better than Lcd, it saves more battery, it also has always on display. Examples are Amoled on Samsung phones and Retina display on iPhones... X and above.
Mini Led is what most flagship (the best of the best) are using. Any latest phone use this.
LTPO - This is a new technology phones use on their screen which allow things to look smoother and clearer. It is called 120hz refresh display or 90hz refresh display. What it means is it will even consume lower battery than others above
-SCREEN SIZE
This is also important.
The bigger the screen, the better.
At least make sure your phone is 6inches screen size.
-SCREEN PROTECTION
This is not about screen guard 😏 although you will need screen guard for your phone. Check if your phone is protected by Corning gorilla glass If not, don't buy it o. You can also check if it has water resistance or dust resistance. If it does great.
-SOUND QUALITY
Don't buy any phone that doesn't have Stereo sound that is 2 speakers. If not, after sometime, you may not even hear your phone ring. Or be able to enjoy music or videos on it.
G. NETWORK
make sure your phone is at least a 4G phone. So that you will not be crawling to even check WhatsApp messages. The faster your network speeds the better. Check for Bluetooth too. The latest now is 5.2 technology. Others are Wifi, Infrared - good if you want to use your phone as television remote control. (redmi phones has it).
H. ANDROID VERSION
This is also important. If the android version of the phone less than android 9 don't buy ô. Or if you can't upgrade it to that, don't buy, your phone will not be able to do many things and you will be wondering why.
For iPhones, if your phone is not upgradable IOS 10 too, no buy o
Extra Tips for Used phones
Don't buy if the screen is cracked and must be changed.
Don't buy if it doesn't have the original screen, n'a suffer you go suffer with calibration
Don't buy if the phone is not charging well that you will manage it. Na lie o.
Don't buy if you open the phone and start seeing Chinese language inside
Don't buy if the battery health is less than 80%
They make you feel as if you are paying less by 5k or 10k, but you are getting way less value. Worth more than that.
I wish you all well in your Phone buying Adventures. May God provide for all of us. 💪
