This was the first semi final and it was quite a game. Burkina Faso had several chances in the first half and Chelsea's Mendy had a lot of chances to prove he is a great goalkeeper. Senegal were the better team but encountered strong resistance. I have to say the referee was just plain bad, he let a lot of fouls go unsanctioned and then he awarded Senegal two penalty shots which were then over turned by VAR. The first one he maybe made a mistake because it was a fast move and I allow him that, even though I think it was a penalty. The second one is laughable, he says penalty because of an elbow by a Burkina Faso player against a shot at goal. Regardless of whether you think it was a penalty or not the referee was a few feet away, he doesn't need VAR to decide that for him. and yet I bet this guy will be in Qatar.
The goals were scored from the 70 minute forward, all three Burkina Faso goals were defensive mistakes, the last one is kind of an expected goal Burkina were down 2-1 were looking for the equalizer and Mane sure can run. I think the better team made it through but kudos to Burkina Faso they played a good game.
The final will be Senegal against whomever wins between Cameroon and Egypt.
This is Mane's goal, I took it on my TV, I just knew it would be a goal and clicked, I think its not bad from a live TV image.
