With mutual consent, World Cup-winning defender Sergio Ramos has left his childhood club, Sevilla, and is now free agent again. Prior to moving to Real Madrid in 2005, Ramos completed the youth program at the team he supported. Before leaving in 2021, Ramos established himself as a Madrid icon by winning four UEFA Champions League wins and five La Liga titles.
Prior to completing a touching comeback to Sevilla at the age of 37, Ramos, who has a record 180 games for Spain and won the 2010 World Cup, played for French Giants Paris Saint-Germain for two years. The club had a difficult season and was in actual danger of relegation at one point before a late comeback led by Quique Sanchez Flores, so the homecoming was difficult. Some fans did not welcome him back. It's unknown what Ramos will do next in football; some have suggested retirement and others have suggested lucrative moves to either the MLS or Saudi Arabia.
