With Conor Gallagher's agreement to join Atletico Madrid, Chelsea is in the lead to recruit Samu Omorodion from the Spanish team. The Blues haven't ruled out adding Victor Osimhen, a standout player for Napoli, to Enzo Maresca's team this summer. If Atletico manages to get Julian Alvarez this summer, they may let Omorodion to leave for a deal worth approximately £40 million. Chelsea is the front-runner to sign the Spaniard if the trade is completed. Despite having already had a £27.4 million bid for the 20-year-old turned down, the Blues are still interested in the player. He played the entire previous season on loan with Deportivo Alaves, where he scored nine goals and contributed one assist to help the team place tenth in La Liga.
And Chelsea is still interested in signing Osimhen, should Napoli permit the striker to join them initially on loan, despite their continued pursuit of Omorodion. If Napoli loses Osimhen in the opposite direction, they want to sign Romelu Lukaku. And Chelsea's need of a right-footed winger might be resolved if Omorodion and Osimhen are signed. On Monday, however, the Blues were getting closer to Conor Gallagher's £33.7 million move to Atletico.
