In an attempt to make a comeback before the season ends, Manuel Akanji will undergo operation on Saturday to treat a groin injury. The Swiss defender for Manchester City is being evaluated this week after hobbling out of Tuesday's Champions League loss to Real Madrid.
To add to this , it has been confirmed by medics that the swiss international will go under the knife which is likely to keep him out of action for a period of around ten weeks.
He might not return until early May as a result, missing a significant portion of the remaining games. The majority of his defenders have suffered injuries this season, and manager Pep Guardiola feels that Akanji has been affected by the increased workload.
