In a deal reportedly worth more than £25 million, Scott McTominay departed Manchester United after 22 years of service to join Serie A team Napoli.
The 27-year-old began playing for United's development team at the age of five in 2002. He advanced through the academy system before making 255 appearances for the main team.
Man Utd will benefit from all revenue generated by the homegrown midfield player, which will help them comply with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules.
In order to obtain Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, and Manuel Ugarte, the club made significant transfers this summer.
United will also get a cut of any future McTominay sales made by the 2022–23 Italian winners, according to The Athletic.
There is one more year on the Scotland international's deal before he leaves his boyhood club.
Although he secured his first senior deal at Old Trafford in 2013, he did not play in a senior capacity until May 2017, when he lost to Arsenal 2-0 on the road.
