We were the hosts for the CONCACAF under 20 World Cup qualifiers that will be held in Indonesia next year. We had all Central American countries here except Belize plus the three from North America and quite a few Caribbean countries also.

There was also a qualification for two places at the 2024 Olympics, so it was quite interesting. In the end we had two huge surprises, Guatemala beat Canada and Mexico, both in penalties to qualify for the second time to a youth World Cup and Dominican Republic also surprised by eliminating El Salvador and Jamaica qualifying for a World Cup for the first time in their history, I actually believe they had never even gone beyond the first phase. And then to round it up, they qualified for the Olympics by beating Guatemala on penalties.

The other two teams that qualified for the World Cup were the United States and Honduras, unfortunately Honduras lost 3-0 against USA so we are not going to the Olympics but we will be in Indonesia which after all was what this was really about. Some of CONCACAF's best teams didn't make it like Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica, Panama, Jamaica so we are Ok. I must say the playing fields of the stadiums used were not in good shape because of the heavy rains we have been getting, but that is no excuse, all the teams played in the same fields.
