She ran and shouted with bolo on her hand "Hey, are you from Dumaguete?". I don't how to react because I was scared of her hmmmm the bolo with her specifically as it has many what ifs in my mind like what if she's crazy and she will immediately hit us. I walked faster but she never stopped walking and following me. Heart beats fast until my friend told me she's a local here and used to look woods for their daily needs at home and after knowing the story I was get calmed.
I stopped and sat on the tree until she was able to get closer to me. I noticed that she was catching her breath before she sat down near me. "Do you have food?" she asked me. Luckily, my friend and I bought some foods for our snacks so we gave some portions to her. I handed it to her and let her eat since she complained a while ago that she hadn't have her breakfast yet.
While she was eating she shared her life story to us, her struggles and hardships in life. She told us that her children abandoned her and most of the times she has no proper meal. We can't validate the truthfulness of her story since she's already old maybe she's already suffering from alzheimer's disease.
We don't know her real struggles in life but what I really know is she really needs care. I was guilty because I only gave her a small amount of food, I could have given her enough food if we didn't meet in a secluded place where access to store is difficult.
There are many people whose burdens are heavier than us and that made my eyes open to stop complaining because I still have many things to be grateful for. That's it for today Blurtians. See you on my next blog.
