The sidecar is a three-wheeled vehicle and is obtained by assembling a kind of carriage to a motorcycle. The starting idea was to apply a wheelchair to a bicycle. From this invention we moved on to the motorized version which was then spread all over the world under the name of sidecar. It seems that the first models were invented in the late 19th century. In some versions the carriage wheel is driving, this happens by connecting a differential between the wheel of the cartozza and the driving wheel of the motorcycle. As with motorcycles, there are also sports competitions for sidecars. Here are some photos of a sidecar from the 1950s.

Il sidecar è un veicolo a tre ruote e viene ottenuto assemblando una specie di carrozza ad una motocicletta. L’idea di partenza fu quella di applicare una carrozzina ad una bicicletta. Da questa invenzione si è passati alla versione motorizzata che poi è stata diffusa in tutto il mondo con il nome di sidecar. Sembra che i primi modelli furono inventati alla fine del XIX secolo. In alcune versioni la ruota della carrozza è motrice, questo avviene collegando un differenziale tra la ruota della cartozza e la ruota motrice della motocicletta. Come per le motociclette anche per i sidecar esistono le competizioni sportive. Allego qui alcune foto di un sidecar degli anni 50.
