Quest’anno alla Mille Miglia, in gara con il numero 208, correva una FERRARI-500 TR SPIDER SCAGLIETTI del 1956.
Quest’auto era condotta da JOHN DEVINE (USA), mentre il navigatore era PIETZ WESTLEY (USA).
La 500 TR è una vettura sportiva costruita dalla casa costruttrice di automobili Ferrari, azienda italiana.
Il motore della 500 TR era a 4 cilindri in linea, raffreddato a liquido.
La Ferrari 500 TR fu prodotta per soli due anni, dal 1956 al 1957.
Alla Mille Miglia del 1957 questa vettura, guidata da Gino Munaron arrivò ottava.
I progettisti di quest’auto furono: Vittorio Jano, Alberto Massimino, Luigi Bellentani e Andrea Fraschetti.
NOTA: La 500 TR fu la prima Ferrari a portare la denominazione “Testa Rossa” (denominazione che poi ha conosciuto tutto il mondo intero)
