Ethno village Divljakovac, at the crossroads of the winds

in blurtphoto •  last year

Hello everyone. I recently visited a small town near Belgrade called Arandjelovac with my family. As soon as we arrived, my children were very hungry, so we asked around on the street where there was good food nearby. The locals directed us to the ethno village, called Divljakovac. In translation, this word refers to something wild. But when we got there, it was tamer and more pleasant than we could have imagined. 😊

This place is located at the foot of the Bukulja mountain, actually at the very beginning of its ascent. Incredibly fresh air flows around and it is said that it is the place where the winds from all sides meet and cross, so it is considered a kind of air spa.

From there, you can enjoy a wide view of the Arandjelovac town and its surroundings, and when you climb the Bukulja mountain, you can see a large part of Sumadia, the central part of Serbia.

The view adorns the restaurant of this ethno village.

But in addition to the view and the authentic decoration, something you will surely enjoy is the food, which is fantastic! Here you can try traditional dishes, prepared in a special way that you will love.

In Divljakovac there are seven traditional houses that are more than 200 years old and have been restored. Guests can stay in them and feel as if they have traveled to a long time ago.

My children visited all the houses and I followed them and took photos.

On each house it was written what year they were from. Some were even from the 19th century.

In front of the houses were spacious grass areas.

I especially liked the magnolias. Their scent was spread by the wind all around.

There were guests in some houses, so we could not visit them, but some were empty. Actually, not completely empty, we found some cats resting there, on the terrace with a stunning view. 😊

We also took a look at the restaurant, which is decorated in an old and traditional style as well.

Although we were originally only looking for a place to eat, the visit to this ethno village exceeded our expectations. We ate well, in the fresh air. We took a break from the city noise, while the children developed their exploring skills. We will definitely come back again.
