ریحانہ اعجاز مما ہمیشہ صبح کے وقت دودھ گرم کرتیں اور نیناں کے اٹھنے سے پہلے فریج میں رکھ دیتی تھیں۔جو سارا دن استعمال ہوتا اور دوسرے دن صبح تک موٹی موٹی بالائی بھی تیار ہو جاتی․․․نیناں کے لئے۔ آج دوپہر میں چند مہمانوں کی آمد پر کڑھا ہوا دودھ ختم ہو گیا تو مما نے فریج سے مزید دودھ نکال کر گرم کر لیا تاکہ صبح نیناں کو بالائی مل سکے سو کچھ دیر پہلے انہوں نے ہمیشہ کی طرح دودھ گرم کرکے چولہے سے اتار کر سلیب پر رکھ کر جالی سے ڈھانپ دیا تاکہ ٹھنڈا ہو جانے پر فریج میں رکھا جا سکے۔

ایک نظر ہوم ورک کرتی نیناں پر ڈالی اور لاؤنج میں استری اسٹینڈ پر کپڑے استری کرنے میں مصروف ہو گئیں۔ نیناں کو حسب معمول بالائی کھانے کا شوق چر آیا تو مما کو مصروف دیکھ کر چپکے سے کچن میں چلی آئی۔ () فریج کا جائزہ لیا،دودھ کی پتیلی غائب تھی اِدھر اُدھر جائزہ لیا تو پتیلی سلیب پر نظر آ گئی۔ اسٹول رکھا۔پتیلی سے جالی اتاری اور اپنی انگلیاں گرم دودھ میں ڈال کر بالائی حاصل کرنا چاہی لیکن! منہ سے چیخ نکل گئی۔شکر کہ اسٹول سے نیچے نہیں گری بس اپنے ہاتھ کو پکڑ کر زور سے چلائی․․․․مما․․․․!نیناں کی زور دار چیخ پر کپڑے پریس کرتی مما جلدی سے استری اسٹینڈ پر ٹکائی اور آواز کی سمت دوڑیں۔ آواز کچن سے آئی تھی۔نیناں کچن میں چولہے کے سامنے اسٹول پر کھڑی زار و قطار رو رہی تھی۔اوہ میری لاڈو․․․․

کیا ہوا میری جان؟ مما نے نیناں کی طرف بڑھتے ہوئے کہا اور اُسے اٹھا کر سینے سے لگا لیا۔مما کی نظر چولہے کے سائیڈ سلیب پر پڑی دودھ کی پتیلی کو دیکھا جس پر ڈھکی گئی جالی ایک طرف پڑی تھی۔ وہ آناً فاناً سارا ماجرا سمجھ گئیں۔مما نے دیکھا نیناں کی انگلیاں سرخ ہو رہی تھیں۔انہوں نے جلدی سے اُس کا ہاتھ ٹھنڈے پانی سے دھلایا اور اس پر فوری طور پر اسکن آئنمنٹ مرہم کا لیپ کر ڈالا۔ دودھ کی پتیلی کو جالی سے ڈھکا اور نیناں کو سینے سے لگائے اندرونی کمرے کی جانب بڑھ گئیں۔ نیناں کو بیڈ پر لٹایا جو سسکیاں بھر رہی تھی۔”یہ کیا کر ڈالا میری جان“ مما نے نیناں کے بال سنوارتے ہوئے اسے پیار کیا تو نیناں کا ضبط جیسے ختم ہو گیا۔وہ زور زور سے رونے لگی۔مما بھی گھبرا گئیں۔مما،میں،میں بالائی کھانے لگی تھی لیکن میری انگلیاں جل گئیں مما مجھے درد ہو رہا ہے۔ نیناں نے روتے ہوئے کہا تو مما کا بھی دل بھر آیا۔اسی لئے کہتے ہیں بیٹا کہ جب مما،پاپا کسی کام سے منع کریں وہ نہیں کرنا چاہئے۔سوری مما،اب میں کبھی ایسا نہیں کروں گی۔بالائی کی شوقین نیناں اس واقعے سے ایسا ڈری کہ اُس دن کے بعد اُس نے مما کو بتائے بنا،چوری چھپے بالائی کھانے سے توبہ کر لی۔ اب جب بھی اُس کا دل بالائی کھانے کو کرتا وہ مما کے فارغ ہونے کا انتظار کرتی۔پھر ان سے پیالے میں بالائی ڈالوا کر چمچ سے مزے لے کر کھاتی۔نیناں جان چکی تھی کہ اچھے بچے بڑوں کا کہنا مانتے ہیں اور جو نہیں مانتے وہ تکلیف اُٹھاتے ہیں۔ اب نیناں بڑی ہو چکی ہے اور اُس کا چھوٹا بھائی علی بھی اُس کی بالائی کھانے کی عادت و شوق سے اچھی طرح واقف ہو چکا ہے۔تبھی ایک دن علی نے مما سے کہا۔ مما مجھے پتہ ہے نیناں آپی اتنی گوری کیوں ہیں؟اچھا ہمیں بھی بتاؤ بھلا کیوں ہیں؟ مما نے اشتیاق سے کہا تو نیناں آپی بھی علی کی طرف متوجہ ہو گئی وہ اس لئے کہ یہ بچپن سے بالائی کھاتی ہیں چمچ بھر بھر کر اور اسی بالائی کی طرح گوری ہو گئی ہیں۔ علی کی بات پر مما اور نیناں کا مشترکہ قہقہہ گونجھ اٹھا تو علی کا موڈ آف ہو گیا کہ اس کا مذاق اُڑایا جا رہا ہے

Now Naina has grown up and her younger brother Ali has also become well aware of her habit and passion for eating balai. Then one day Ali said to Mamma. Mamma, I know why are you so fair, baby? تو یہ تینوں جیت جاتے ہیں
Just lose relationships and relationships
بس تعلقات اور رشتے ہار جاتے ہیں

عجیب دنیا ہے یار جس کے لیے مخلص رہو
That hypocrite comes out
وہی منافق نکل آتا ہے
In Allah's system, there is only one law of increasing sustenance
اللہ کے نظام میں رزق بڑھنے کا ایک ہی قانون ہے

جتنا تقسیم کرو گے اتنا بڑھتا چلا جائے گا.
So glorify your Lord with praise
تو اپنے پروردگار کی تعریف کے ساتھ تسبیح کرو
And ask Him for forgiveness, indeed He is Oft-Forgiving
اور اس سے مغفرت مانگو بے شک وہ معاف کرنے والا ہے
Treat people as human beings
انسانوں کو انسان سمجھ کر ان کے ساتھ معاملات کریں
If you hope for them like angels, you will be disappointed
ان سے فرشتوں جیسی امیدیں وابستہ کرلیں گے تو مایوس ہونا پڑے گا
