Carnival holds no special place for me, when I was a drunk I was drunk before any events started and since I stopped drinking I have kept away. But this carnival was special, first one in three years because of the pandemic. I went to the parade and had a lot of fun, even won a baseball cap and some necklaces.
In fact I had such a good time I figured I would go out at night to see some Puerto Rican and Panamanian singers who came for the carnival, Tito el Bambino and Aldo Ranks, I have heard of them but am not into that kind of music, but seeing them was free so I was going. But plans are one thing, reality is another, it rained, not hard, but enough to make me ditch my plans. Perhaps next year.
This guy was taking advantage, selling ice cold juices.
These three wheeled Honda Goldwings 1750 were from Costa Rica.
Food!!!
These guys were from Argentina, eight cars, they are on some sort of World tour.
And finally, this guy who carried that bottle on his head from start to finish and drank all of it once they got to the end. It is a Garifuna drink called Guifiti, made of white rum and all sorts of roots and herbs. I don't like it, once I drank half a bottle and kept belching that tastte for a week. By the way, Guifiti means bitter in Garifuna.
