Nature Macro Pics: Snowy Oysterling Mushroom

in blurtography •  2 years ago

Last April, I found these oyster mushrooms in the Bukit Rata valley, Lhokseumawe. I think this is a species of Cheimonophyllum candidissimum (Berk. & M.A. Curtis) Singer - 1955, also known as the snowy oysterling mushroom, belonging to the family Cyphellaceae.

Those mushrooms are small, about the size of a fingernail, with prominent gills.

These photos were taken with my smartphone camera and a 25mm external phone macro lens. With smooth backgrounds, I only lightly edited it with the mobile Lightroom app.

Unlike insects, which move a lot, and the wind, which can be quite annoying when taking photos, capturing mushrooms is enjoyable for me.

Even though mushrooms are immovable objects, they still look stunning in macro photography.
