There has been outrage in Nigeria about the reality that 29 youngsters are reportedly facing the death penalty for allegedly participating in protests regarding the cost-of-living issue. The kids, who ranged in age from 14 to 17, were among 76 people charged in court Friday.
The minors are said to be charged with treason , destruction of property , and encouraging a millitary coup.
Four of the children fainted in the courtroom due to weariness before they could submit their plea. They have allegedly been arrested by the police since August.
