Kim Yong-hyun, the former defense minister of South Korea, attempted suicide after he took full blame and responsibility for the Nation's Leader unsuccessful attempt to impose martial law on the nation last week.
Shin Yong-hae, the head of the justice ministry's correctional agency, made this known to lawmakers that authorities discovered him in his detention facility Tuesday night while he was attempting to cut short his life. Kim and other senior members of the presidential staff resigned last week following Yoon's unexpected declaration of martial law. Prior to his official arrest on rebellion charges, he had been held on Sunday for investigation. After the effort, Kim's status was stable, according to Shin.
Several government top government officials of which Kim is one of them are currently being incestigated for being part of the officials who were invilved in the martial law decleration by the the embattled President Yoon.
