Nearly fifty dead were discovered this week by Libyan police from two separate burial grounds in the country's southeast desert. People trying to go to Europe via the North African nation are the subject of the most recent catastrophe.
In Kufra, 19 remains were discovered on a farm on Friday.

Pictures of the police during the excavation of the dead bodies was shared by the authorities on their facebook page.

In Libya, mass graves of migrants are not unusual. In the Shuayrif area, 350 kilometers (220 miles) south of Tripoli, authorities discovered the bodies of at least 65 migrants last year.

For migrants attempting to reach Europe from Africa as well as the Middle East, Libya serves as their primary transit location. Because of the more than ten years of instability, human traffickers have been able to smuggle migrants across the country's borders with six countries, namely Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Chad, and Niger.
