With a promise to punish those responsible for the actions of Oriokpa Masquerade organizations accountable, the Enugu State Government has begun a thorough investigation.
According to reports, two people passed away earlier this week as a result of the wild behavior of Oriokpa masqueraders in the state's Nsukka Local Government Area, which is located in University Town of Nsukka.
This was confirmed by Chief Okey Ogbodo, the state commissioner for local government, rural development, and chieftaincy affairs, in a press release made accessible to journalists in Enugu on Friday. The statement emphasized the state's dedication to upholding the safety of the public.
After the event, he declared that the impacted communities' presidents-general and traditional leaders had been called by the state government to discuss the matter.
