A woman who had been lost for six days in Australia's Snowy Mountains was discovered "confused and bruised" by medical personnel following a large rescue and recovery operation.
The enthusiastic photographer received care for the wounds on the spot before being transported to the hospital, where she is in a good state. Sjoberg, 48, is a frequent visitor to the isolated Kosciuszko National Park, which she often photographs wild horses living in the highlands. Fears for her well-being increased after a rental car business stated that her vehicle was still not retrieved and she was unable to be reached.

The rented car was soon discovered where it was abandoned.

On October 21, NSW Police issued a plea to the public for assistance in finding her, and a large-scale search commenced, involving sniffing dogs, firefighters, park rangers, and an infrared helicopter. A National Parks and Wildlife Service officer discovered Sjoberg on the Nungar Creek Trail near Kiandra on Sunday afternoon, local time.
