Marcelo, the legendary Brazilian defender and previous Real Madrid hero, has departed his boyhood club Fluminense.
On Saturday, his contract ended two months early, despite him being widely considered as one of the best left-backs of all times.
According to the statement released by the Brazilian club , the agreement for the contract termination was a mutual agreement.
While the explanations for his decision to leave were not revealed, the press release came just hours after the 36-year-old clashed with coach Mano Menezes. Marcelo was set to take the field against Gremio on Friday when Menezes responded to a thing that he had said and sent him back to the bench. The coach later stated that he intended to bring Marcelo on, but after hearing something he disliked, he changed his mind.
