over 100 migrants and refugees were saved by the Italian Coast Guard on Sunday when they were trying to traverse the Mediterranean Sea in substandard conditions on a packed fishing boat.
In the province of Crotone, 90 kilometers southeast of Isola di Capo Rizzuto, the rescue effort was conducted. To get to the ship, two naval surveillance vessels were sent out, negotiating a difficult situation with high winds and four-meter waves, the Coast Guard said.
All passengers were moved to safety by the crew once they arrived on the site. At 8 p.m. local time, the 130 individuals—74 men, 27 women, and 29 minors—were taken to the port of Crotone and disembarked.
Over the course of the year, 3,673 individuals have traveled from North Africa to Italy across the Mediterranean.
Not refugees, economic parasites encouraged by the other parasites, government.
