For information that results and lead apprehension of six individuals who are considered by Hong Kong to be pro-democracy activists residing in the UK and Canada, a reward which is estimated to be in the region of £103,000 has been offered by the Hong Kong police. Tony Chung, who escaped to the UK last year after being the founder and leader of a pro-independence party, is one of them.
The reason for the agitation of the group is said to be for a greater democracy in the region, among them includes a YouTuber, an actress, and a former district councillor. They all have been said to be guilty of breaking the national security law of the city.
According to a UK foreign secretary , David Lammy , he criticized the action of the Hong-Kong government and urged them to stop the prosecution of people who defend democracy and freedom.
