Sudan has started its first malaria vaccine program despite the nation's 18-month civil war.
Vaccines will be given to about 148,000 kids beneath the age of 12 months in 15 venues across the Gedaref and Blue Nile states.
Sudan is one of the initial 16 African countries to implement the malaria vaccine.
The start comes after Sudan received its initial shipment of malaria vaccinations, totaling 186,000 doses in October.
The immunization will be administered in 129 places surrounding the country in 2025 and 2026.
Malaria kills over half a million children beneath the age of five in Africa every year, according to UNICEF.
