The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has accused multinational electronics giant Apple of using conflict-related minerals in its products, a claim that Apple has denied.
According to its statement, which omits specifics, it instructed its suppliers earlier this year to cease sourcing gold, tungsten, tantalum, and tin from the DRC and Rwanda, where fighting has intensified.

The Declaration came after the congolese government brought criminal charges against them in Belgium and France.

The IT giant is accused by Kinshasa of employing local "blood minerals" that are laundered through global supply chains in its goods.
