A boat capsized off the coast of Koh Tao after catching fire, and a British traveller was recently discovered missing in Thailand.
A 26 years old south London Alexandra Clark among those inside the ship when the fire broke out in the ship's engine room, according to the Surat Thani Provincial Public Relations Office.
According to Koh Tao Police, they think the petrol in the boat's tank overflowed during the trip and caught fire when it was restarted.
The missing woman, who authorities said was believed to have been in the boat's bathroom when the fire started, was not located despite Thai navy divers spending the day combing the boat's wreckage and the nearby waters.
Police are investigating the cause of the fire, but they say it started when an engine that was used to pump air into a fuel tank died when they were visiting a well-known dive site in the Gulf of Thailand.
