Following concerns about the impact of social media on youngsters following the death of a schoolboy last month, Albania's prime minister declared that the government plans to prohibit access to TikTok for a year. In a statement on Saturday, Edi Rama stated that the proposed ban will begin in January. Regarding the planned ban, TikTok stated that it is urgently requesting information from the Albanian authorities.
According to the social networking site, neither the victim nor the individual who reportedly wounded the 14-year-old boy had any TikTok accounts.
