Ifeanyi Ozoh, a Nigerian who lives in the United States, was given a 72-month prison sentence for his involvement in a $6 million bribery scam that involved payments intended to defraud Medicaid, a US insurance company.
In addition, Ozoh was mandated to reimburse the insurance company $4.9 million and be monitored for three years after his release.
In a statement posted on the US Department of Justice website on Wednesday, US Attorney Alamdar Hamdani made this announcement.
Upon being found guilty for collaborating to pay bribes to transport Medicaid-insured patients to a nonexistent clinic under the pretense of obtaining treatment in order to obtain insurance company claims, 54-year-old Ozoh was sentenced, according to information obtained by News Agency.
