To assist travelers left trapped by the closure, Ryanair has stepped in and is already providing emergency planes connecting Dublin and London Stansted. All of Lufthansa's aircraft to and from Heathrow were canceled in the interim.
They have redirected or called off flights from Tokyo, Hong Kong, and other destinations. The flights of Qantas were rerouted to Paris. Authorities are still looking into what caused the fire, but there is no proof of criminal play, and thousands of travelers are stranded.
