FIFA banned Samuel Eto'o, a legendary soccer player from Cameroon, from witnessing any national team matches for a period of six months on Monday.
President of the Cameroon soccer association since 2021, Eto'o, was charged with two offenses following an altercation on September 11 at the Under-20 Women's World Cup in Colombia.
The round of 16 match between Brazil and Cameroon, which Brazil won 3-1 in overtime, was not made clear by FIFA.
Eto'o was found to have violated FIFA's disciplinary guidelines concerning official misconduct as well as "offensive behavior and breaches of the principles of fair play."
During his illustrious career as one of the best attackers in soccer, he achieved three Champions League titles, notably back-to-back championships with Barcelona in 2009 and Inter Milan in 2010.
