The first Israeli leader currently in office to testify as a criminal defendant is Netanyahu. A rich Hollywood producer is accused of offering him cigars and champagne valued at tens of thousands of dollars in exchange for help with his personal and professional affairs.
Another of his charges includes lobbying for policies that will benefits media tycoons in exchange for positive publicity for him and his families.
The prime minister has denied or the accusation and said they are all part of the plans to remove him from his position.
Years of controversies involving him along with the members of his family, who have come to be known for living a luxury lifestyle at the cost of taxpayers, come to a head with his testimony.
