Why do Many Indonesians Seek Treatment in Malaysia? Here's Why ...

Since a dozen or even dozens of years ago, many Indonesian citizens have chosen to seek treatment or just a medical check-up in Malaysia. It turns out that here are some of the reasons that are commonly found.

The first factor is better health facilities. Health facilities in Malaysia are generally better and more modern than health facilities in Indonesia. We can see this from the facilities they have, not only in private hospitals but also in government hospitals.

The second factor is that it is more accessible. Malaysia is a neighboring country of Indonesia so it is more accessible and closer than other countries. Even for residents of Aceh or North Sumatra, traveling to Malaysia is much closer and cheaper than they choose to seek treatment in Jakarta or Surabaya.

The next factor is affordability. Although the cost of health care in Malaysia is more expensive compared to the cost of health care in Indonesia, the cost of health care in Malaysia is still affordable for most Indonesians.

Another reason is the good quality of healthcare services. Doctors and medical personnel in Malaysia are well-qualified and experienced to provide quality healthcare services for patients. Patients are more confident with a focused treatment pattern that tends not to be repetitive.

It is also because of the more comprehensive treatment factor. There are types of health care that are not available in Indonesia, but are available in Malaysia such as beauty care, dental care, and others.

Thanks to the onchain-curator post, I found this post. I have to admit that it was well selected, as it really speaks to why Malaysia's healthcare system is so much better than Indonesia's.

I hope that Indonesia applies more efficient policies so that its health system is empowered for more excellent care for its citizens.
