Crazy Frog does Axel F for the win!

It was announced that ‘Crazy Frog’ by Axel F was the best selling UK ringtone of 2005. ‘Tweet Tweet’ by Sweetie Chick was the second and ‘(Is This The Way To) Amarillo’ by Tony Christie and Peter Kay was the third biggest seller. The UK ringtone market was now worth more than double the value of the CD singles sales.

Wow, ringtones. I haven't thought of them in years and were at one point the hottest thing ever.

Even during this era these things annoyed most people with a little sense and would always get a groan whenever they started playing.

Give me a standard telephone-like ring and I'll always be happy. Ring, ring ring haha

Crazy Frog was a phenomenon and this song in particular, Axel F is a riff off the soundtrack of Beverly Hills Cop (1984) and its main theme. For some reason this website has the name and track title reversed. Oh well, the track is called Axel F and the artist is Crazy Frog. This frog must be making people actually go crazy.

I must admit the video for Crazy Frog is quite funny and put a smile on my face! That ding ding sample was used in so many things.
