1980 - Pink Floyd
Pink Floyd released 'Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2)' in the US. The single peaked at No.1 on both the US and UK charts, giving Pink Floyd their first and only No.1 hit single. The single went to No.1 in many other countries, including Australia, Germany and Italy.

The song I remember fondly from the rock opera The Wall by Pink Floyd.

A film that is split into three different parts or stages of life. In this instance, stage 2 deals with conformity that is often imposed specifically during boarding school. Abusive teachers along with conformity make up the bulk of this period.

The use of a children's choir only further solidifies the message.

The official video uses excepts from the film. The walking hammers with their red and black symbolism only further hammers home the thought of conformity. The imagery in general is spectacular, the meat grinder scene is another visually powerful image.

They don't make them like this anymore.
