It's election time!
Even though I am not voting due to being unable to vote in the last two consecutive elections I am more excited to see the outcome of this election particularly for the President and Vice presidential race. The opposition party says that they are sure to win but in surveys it shows that they are not but we will have to see.
I am rooting for a pro-current government candidate, the son of the former Philippine president Ferdinand Marcos which is Mr. Bong-bong Marcos and then for the vice-president seat Mrs. Sara Duterte, the daughter of the current outgoing president Mr. Rodrigo Duterte.
Source I have my own reasons why I picked the two, it is because Mr. Duterte has a "Build-build-build" program which consists of important railway projects which will traverse from north of Luzon and to the north of my province and possibly on the tip of Luzon if things went well. Mr. Marcos promises to continue such crucial projects. | SourceThe surveys says that the candidate Bong-bong Marcos leads a wide margin against the opposition candidate. The same with Sara Duterte which also has the charisma of his Father and has a similar if not more effective particularly for bad elements like criminals in society. |
That is one thing and Mr. Rodrigo Duterte has a lot of projects that are not completed. I hate these big projects to be turned into "White Elephant" if the opposing party wins. The opposition is helped by a bias news network which only acts to protect its own interests which is why its style of reporting is always against the government and is using the voice of communist to help them with their propaganda to put the image of this current government in a very bad light.
That news outlet is also effective for some vulnerable people who are not well-informed enough to believe their lies through their propagandas and is very political and basically biased against this current government and is in full support of the opposition.
The interesting thing about this election is that both parties would possibly make some very big protest once the other side wins. The opposition which is backed by the leftist groups, communists basically, possibly will organize a sort of "people's revolution" and again this will be covered by that news outlet that I am talking about in favor of their opposition candidate.
Ever since I was young the media here in my place is actively meddling in politics to favor their candidates for their own selfish gains and interests.
The president wars that if the opposition blatantly cheats the result, he will declare a failure of elections and threatened to set a revolutionary government just to protect the interests of the people and I believe him as he is one of the most passionate leader who is concerned for the welfare of people especially the poor ones and the vulnerable.
The election process here in my country is already automated but it is tallied manually still. So the final tally might take two weeks but I am not sure but basically not an instant like that from the USA system of counting. In the first few days because of the wide margin of lead based on surveys it will already be reflected in the partial tally and it will get validated more as days passes by.
A failure of elections means a massive cheating and will prompt the president to setup a revolutionary government after a "declaration of failure of elections".
At that point the opposition will start to get uneasy and will call for a big protest crying that they are cheated. After that who knows what will happen next and I pray that no such thing could ever happen especially cheating considering that we are now using counting machines to tally the votes.
I also hope that God will protect my country, we already have lots of problems like the weather included, Communist insurgents as well as their "legal arm" in the congress. If not from the overseas Filipino worker's dollar remittance this country would have fallen so deeply like maybe Turkey, Lebanon, or Venezuela economically.
So we needed a competent leader to effectively change the way governance is done, cutting the red tape in government transactions, enhanced health care, a more level playing field for future investors free from the threat of commissioning dirty politicians, economic strategies, effective control of criminality and then it includes war on drugs, banning of brazenly corrupt politicians, improvement of government services, more infrastructure projects to ease doing business and aids in tourism, etc.
Personally I wanted the current president to stay but it is not possible. He could have done more if given more time. My country needs strong leader like him to make things done, a leader with political will-power so that the lives of the citizens will eventually get more better.
