I have been a mediator in a fight in different ways. It can be my parents, friends, families and school mate.
Settling a fight it’s always not easy and it’s another thing to try to settle a fight and those you are trying to settle fight between them heed to you or your advice for them.
My mom and dad can have some misunderstandings between them and they will start exchanging words together and when I try to come in between them to settle their fights they will both shout at me and said I am disrespectful🥲and after some minutes both of them will be calm and be friendly with each other. Because of this, sometimes the best thing I use to do is to walk away whenever I see them exchanging words together.
I know some people will think it’s not the best but to me, I think it is.
I once stayed in a school hostel and whenever the students there have issues together they will be outside quarrelling and throwing things that can injure people at themselves. There was a time they were fighting and I try separating them from fighting. The next thing that happen I was pushed to the ground and hurt my leg badly and blood start gushing out of my leg🥲. Even with the fact I was on the ground, they didn’t mind and they don’t stop the fight. Since that day I have learned to mind my business and stay away from fighting matters.
Another instance was when two friends of mine had a fight and I went to one of them to reconcile with the other. Frankly speaking, she stops talking to me because I advise her to do what’s best for her. I can never reconcile with her and you too should leave me alone and let me be. This was the statement she said to me and I was shocked.
Truth be told since that day I have learnt to mind my business and not involve in separating people that are fighting or quarrelling.
I was not able to settle all these fights between my neighbours, friends, and family because they were not ready to heed to me or take my advice so the best I can do is to walk away.
