The Christmas season in my country is the most awaited by all families, it is generally the time where we usually buy clothes to "premiere" on 24-25 and 31, in addition to buying toys for the little ones in the house, Christmas decorations such as Christmas trees, lights, figures and the like. In the same way, shopping is done to prepare dinner on the 24th, which in many homes is celebrated with the whole family, we eat our typical dishes and we make them with the help of everyone in the family. But in order to make this dinner it is necessary to go shopping for ingredients and kitchen tools.

Particularly this visit we made was to buy the clothes that the little ones in my family will wear on the 24th and 31st, as this fills them with much joy, and honestly I did not want to be left behind, we also bought some implements for our home as molds for making cakes and some things for our home.

The place we went to is known as Traki City or formerly Traki (TRK), here it is called Traki City because it is the largest department store in my city and in the whole country (Venezuela), it is literally like a mini city, since the place is still under construction, but only Traki and Multimax are working for now.
Here we can walk for hours and hours and believe me we did not finish seeing all the clothes that are in the different departments, whether children, men, women, even the departments of home, lingerie and kitchen are too big to see everything in one day.

We went to this site and to our surprise for the Christmas season there was a 40% discount on all departments, which generates a lot of people go the same day, besides that you can see how one of the parking lots is completely full and there was another that was equally or more full.

We needed to buy children's clothes, I have goddaughters who are 5,6,11 and 12 years old, as well as godchildren of 3,4 and 5 years old, so I wanted to give them something according to their tastes, for example one of them is a Spiderman lover, so I wanted to buy him something with this theme.
Believe me the search was really difficult as there were too many clothes to see, there were even some unique items that needed to be searched in detail, everything was really nice. But it took us probably 2 hours and we could see how other people also took the task of looking at each of the clothes that were exhibited.

On top of that I had the debate with my mom about which one was better, which one was bigger or smaller, which one was softer, which one she would like more, so it took us a long time to choose because of these little details, when we both agreed we chose those clothes.

The savings we made in this purchase was really considerable, some flannels that cost 5$ would now have a price of 3$, due to the 40% discount, likewise flannels of 10$ in 6$, it was an incredible savings the decrease in cost was noticeable at the time of payment.
In the end we picked out quite a few clothes for my mom's nephews and nieces who are my godchildren (that's right all my little cousins or almost all of them are my godchildren).

Of course it was also time to see other things to buy, my mom decided to go to the ladies department to choose something for her, and here the wait was not much, because we only saw a few things, not looking for anything special, just what she saw superficial and liked.
Although she looked a little more in clothes for older people, thinking of my grandmother who will be 85 years old next December 25, of course her gift can not miss, so the most difficult task is to find a dress that she likes and that is comfortable.

I think my grandmother is like the youngest in the house, because it is always the day when all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren gather to share, even the closest friends of the family know that the annual birthday party is fixed, so they attend to share with her that day.
However many of my cousins, including my brother are out of the country so probably the sadness in this dinner and the absence of many of our family, although they do not forget and sent some money to buy gifts and make dynamics for our family and friends, which is something that many are currently going through, meetings where the family is incomplete in these important times of union.

And our tour of the home department was the quickest, we looked at a few things even though we knew what we needed, some dishes, cake pans and some sheets for the bed, although I wanted to buy a collar for my little pets.
The rest was just a little bit of looking at the items that were there, but it was super fast.

And finally we finished our long tour of about 4 hours in the men's department where I bought some things for me, some flannels, jackets for the cold and simple things, we did not walk much because I chose what I liked at first sight, although there were some very nice clothes but not the size I need.
Although it was fast I found what I needed and at a much lower cost than I expected, I am really satisfied.

I must admit that what I hated the most was waiting in line to pay, it was endless and there were too many people so it took us about 1 hour, besides that the cashiers billed things to friends ahead of us and this generated dissatisfaction in some people so they had to change some of the staff.
The time we were here was from 2pm to 7pm or a little more approximately.

So this was the long run, or rather the first run I made to buy clothes and some supplies for our next dinner, although I buy clothes, I will not wait until December 24th to wear them, it is more a tradition for children than for adults, however I usually buy my clothes on this date out of habit and I don't usually do it the rest of the year.
As you saw many people probably share my way of thinking or it has become a tradition to buy toys, clothes and other things at Christmas time.

I still need one or two more trips to supermarkets or popular markets, to buy the ingredients to make our typical Christmas dishes, such as hallaca, ham bread, pernil, chicken salad and black cake.
I imagine that like me there are more people who will make this journey that in previous years for reasons of pandemic we could not do.

So I have a question for you.
In your home country (other than Venezuela), how are these purchases at this time, people also tend to leave December to buy clothes?
Are there many people doing the same routine?
Or just Christmas is a common time and there is not much movement in the streets, I would like to know this, because once I was in Ecuador-Quito, coincidentally at this time, but many people were busier working than making preparations, I also saw that many do not make family dinners on the 24th and others simply tend to go to bed early, others leave the city to go on vacation to the beach.
I am curious to know more about other cultures in another country.

La temporada navideña en mi país es la mas esperada por todas las familias, generalmente es la época donde solemos comprar ropa para "estrenar" los días 24-25 y 31, además de comprar juguetes para los mas pequeños de la casa, adornos de navidad como arboles navideños, luces, figuras y otros parecidos. De igual manera se hacen las compras para preparar la cena del 24, que en muchos hogares se celebra con toda la familia, comemos nuestros platos típicos y los hacemos con ayuda de todos en la familia. Pero para poder hacer esta cena se requiere ir a comprar los ingredientes y herramientas de cocina.

Particularmente esta visita que hicimos fue pera comprar la ropa que los pequeños de mi familia usaran el 24 y 31, ya que esto los llena de mucha alegría, y pues sinceramente yo no quise quedarme por detrás, también compramos algunos implementos para nuestro hogar como moldes para hacer tortas y algunas cosas para nuestro hogar.

El lugar al que fuimos es conocido como Ciudad Traki o anteriormente Traki (TRK), aquí se le llama ciudad traki por que es la tienda por departamentos mas grande mi ciudad y de todo el país (Venezuela), literalmente es como una mini ciudad, ya que aun esta en construcción el lugar, pero solo esta funcionando traki y multimax por ahora.
Aquí podemos caminar horas y horas y créanme que no terminamos de ver toda la ropa que hay en los distintos departamentos, ya sea de niños, hombres, mujeres, incluso los departamentos de hogar, lencería y cocina son demasiado grandes para poder ver todo en un solo día.

Fuimos a este sitio y para nuestra sorpresa por la temporada navideña había un 40% de descuento en todos los departamentos, lo que genera que una gran cantidad de personas vaya el mismo día, además de eso pueden ver como uno de los estacionamientos esta completamente lleno y aun había otro que estaba igual o mas lleno.

Necesitábamos comprar ropa de niños, tengo ahijadas que tienen 5,6,11 y 12 años, al igual que ahijados de 3,4 y 5 años, así que quería obsequiarles algo acorde a sus gustos, por ejemplo uno de ellos es amante de Spiderman, así que quería comprarle algo con esta temática.
Créanme que la búsqueda fue realmente difícil ya que había demasiada ropa por ver, incluso habían algunas prendas únicas que era necesario buscar de manera detallada, todo estaba realmente lindo. Pero tardamos buscando 2 horas probablemente y podiamos ver como otras personas también se tomaban la tarea de mirar cada una de las prendas que habían exhibidas.

Además de eso tenia el debate con mi mamá sobre que era mejor, cual era mas grande o pequeña, cual era mas suave, cual le gustaría mas, entonces tardamos mucho en escoger por estos pequeños detalles, cuando ambos estábamos de acuerdo escogíamos esa ropa.

El ahorro que hicimos en esta compra fue realmente considerable, algunas franelas que costaban 5$ tendrían ahora un precio de 3$, debido al 40% de descuento, de igual manera franelas de 10$ en 6$, fue un ahorro increíble la disminución de costo era notable al momento de pagar.
Al final escogimos bastantes prendas para los sobrinos de mi mamá que son mis ahijados (así es todos mis pequeños primos o casi todos son mis ahijados).

Por supuesto también era momento de ver otras cosas para comprar, mi mamá decidió ir al departamento de damas para escoger algo para ella, y pues aquí la espera no fue mucha, pues solo vimos algunas cosas, no busco algo en especial, simplemente lo que veía superficial y le gustaba.
Aunque se fijaba un poco mas en ropa para personas mayores, pensando en mi abuela que cumplirá 85 años el próximo 25 de Diciembre, por su puesto su regalo no puede faltar, así que la tarea mas difícil es encontrar un vestido que le guste a ella y que sea cómodo.

Creo que mi abuela es como la mas pequeña de la casa, por que siempre el día en que todos sus hijos, nietos y bisnietos se reúnen para compartir, incluso los amigos mas cercanos a la familia saben que anualmente la fiesta de cumpleaños es fija, por lo cual asisten a compartir con ella ese día.
Sin embargo muchos de mis primos, incluyendo mi hermano están fuera del país así que probablemente se note un poco la tristeza en esta cena y la ausencia de muchos de nuestro familia, aunque ellos no se olvidan y enviaron un poco de dinero para comprar regalos y hacer dinámicas para nuestra familia y amigos, que es algo por lo que muchos están pasando actualmente, reuniones donde la familia esta incompleta en estas épocas tan importantes de unión.

Y nuestro recorrido por el departamento de hogar fue el mas rápido, miramos algunas cosas aunque sabíamos lo que necesitábamos, algunos platos, moldes para preparar tortas y algunas sabanas para la cama, aunque quería comprar un collar para mis pequeñas mascotas.
El resto fue solo observar un poco los objetos que habían allí, pero fue algo super rápido.

Y por ultimo pues finalizamos nuestro largo recorrido de aproximadamente 4h en el departamento de caballeros donde compre algunas cosas para mi, unas franelas, chaquetas para el frio y cosas sencillas, no caminamos mucho pues escogí lo que me gusto a primera vista, aunque habían algunas prendas muy bonitas pero no la talla que necesito.
Aunque fue rápido encontré lo que necesitaba y a un costo mucho menor del que esperaba, estoy realmente satisfecho.

Debo reconocer que lo que mas odie fue hacer la fila para pagar, era interminable y habían demasiadas personas por lo cual aquí tardamos 1h aproximadamente, además de eso los cajeros facturaban cosas a amigos por delante de nosotros y esto genero descontento en algunas personas por lo cual tuvieron que hacer cambio de algunos del personal.
El tiempo que estuvimos aquí fue desde las 2pm hasta las 7pm o un poco mas aproximadamente.

Así que este fue el largo recorrido, o mejor dicho el primer recorrido que hice para comprar ropa y algunos implementos para nuestra próxima cena, aunque yo compre ropa, no esperare hasta el 24 de Diciembre para usarla, es mas una tradición para los niños que para los adultos, sin embargo yo suelo comprar mi ropa en eta fecha por costumbre y no suelo hacerlo el resto del año.
Como vieron muchas personas comparten probablemente mi manera de pensar o ya se ha vuelto una tradición que en esta época navideña se hagan las compras de juguetes, ropa y otras cosas.

Todavía me falta uno o dos viajes mas a supermercados o mercados populares, para comprar los ingredientes para hacer nuestros platos navideños típicos, como lo son la hallaca, pan de jamón, pernil, ensalada de gallina y torta negra.
Imagino que como yo hay mas personas que harán este recorrido que en años anteriores por motivos de pandemia no pudimos hacer.

Así que yo les tengo una pregunta.
¿En su país natal (que no sea Venezuela), como son estas compras en esta época, las personas también suelen dejar Diciembre para comprar ropa?
¿Hay muchas personas haciendo la misma rutina?
O simplemente navidad es una época común y no hay mucho movimiento en las calles, quisiera saber esto, por que una vez estuve en Ecuador-Quito, casualmente en esta época, pero muchas personas estaban mas ocupadas trabajando que haciendo preparativos, además vi que muchos no hacen cenas en familia el día 24 y otros sencillamente suelen irse a dormir temprano, otros abandonan la ciudad para ir de vacaciones a la playa.

Me da curiosidad saber sobre mas culturas en otro país.
