Recently my parents visited my grandmother's home. My grandmother lives in Tangalle. It takes nearly four hours to travel by car. I'm sad that I couldn't visit her this time.
After my parents reached back home, I was amazed to see what our grandmother has sent us. She has sent two big Jack fruit (One unripped and one riped) which is grown in her garden. It's huge, little Vihan hasn't seen a jackfruit before. He even got scared when touching the thorny surface of the jackfruit.
We shared excess quantities with our neighbors. It is a hard time for everyone. If we think of each other. We all will be able to survive together.
For Fruits, we also received Custard apples or Bullock's hearts. she has all these in her garden, She loves gardening and having her own cultivations. I haven't had this fruit for a long time. In Colombo, it is rarely found and if it's available it's too expensive. It is full of nutrients and it can treat cancers.
Then there were peanuts it's one of my favorite snacks. I don't like to have steamed peanuts, I like when it is roasted and mixed with spices. It tastes really good and is a healthy snack for people who loves snacking all the time.
She has veggies grown in her garden, This time she has harvested Eggplants, Brinjals, and Winged beans. I love these veggies because its 100% organic. she does not add any sort of fertilizers or chemicals to get more harvest. It's grown only for home consumption. These veggies taste fresh and delicious when cooked.
I'm very thankful to my grandmother for keeping our portion and sending all these with love. After a very long time, I'm having some fresh veggies and fruits. I'm happy that I received organic fruits and veggies for the baby.
