Many of you might already be familiar with James bond Island. If you never heard about it, today I am going to tell you about a beautiful location I have explored lately and one of my favorite travel spots of all time.
James Bond island is located in Phang Nga Bay in Thailand, somewhere in the middle of Phuket and Malay Peninsula mainland. The local name of this island is Khao Phing Kan, the official name Tapu (needle-shaped island) but after the shooting of the James Bond movie, people started calling the island James Bond Island. It is a very popular tourist spot and many people's dream place.
The needle-shaped limestone rock is the main attraction of the entire spot. The island is surrounded by numerous limestone cliffs and forests. The beautiful turquoise color water really blows away anyone's mind. It was 2016 when I was visited there. We had hired a long tail boat and after 1 hour of spending in the bay, finally, we reached our destination.
There are other islands as well, you can take a banana boat and can explore the other islands and limestone cliffs as well but this is the most popular island of Phang Nga Bay.
From Phuket which is located in Thailand, anyone can take a tour package of this island. Whole day trip with food and excursion with other activities. Some people do swimming as well but the water is salty. This island is not for swimming of course, for activities, you will be taken to another island. One thing I can tell you for sure, this was my lifetime experience and one of my dreams came true.
History explained that Phang Nga Bay was formed by the massive movement of the earth which was hidden underwater and was part of coral reefs. The entire bay has numerous limestone cliffs and rocks and caves.
I went to a cave by banana boat and all I can tell you is the formation of these rocks are mindblowing and holds the history of ages. Limestones are sedimentary rocks and the cliffs you are seeing in the photos are all limestone rocks. Sometimes fossils can be seen here though I haven't seen anything.
We have spent our whole day there and returned to Phuket before evening. All I can tell, I had acknowledged life adventures and the memory was solid. I still can recall that glorious day of my life...
