I got some of that stuff out of a skip in much better condition too but smaller pieces but I have a very different use for them. I will use them for patterns for making wicker baskets specifically I rish style wicker baskets. Creels. Bet you didn't know that.
Great to have you on Blurt. I miss Lucylin too. He makes me laugh.

Out of a skip?

yeh when people are doing work on their house they have big metal containers to haul away the rubble. It's called a skip. If you take stuff out of skips you're called a 'skip-diver'.

ah okay.
And yea I didnt know about the basket. There is alot of small scrap peieces and insulayion Inhave cut off in small chunks too. Ill be using those too. Nothing will be considered trash here.

No the weaving doesn't go all the way to the top and yes it is upside down, this method works from the top down.

Do you make these baskets often?

I've made a few in classes but not yet done it on my own but I have some willow so will be having a go soon. I will blog my efforts when I do.
