It may be a bit of a strange combination, but overall it turned out quite well. In the kitchen there was a homemade tortilla and beer from the Komes brewery, namely "Porter Bałtycki oak flakes"

Może to trochę dziwne zestawienie, ale suma sumarum wyszło całkiem dobrze. W kuchni bowiem pojawiła się domowa tortilla i piwo z browaru Komes, a mianowicie "Porter Bałtycki płatki dębu".

At first I thought that the oak flakes in the beer were just a marketing gimmick, but it's not. This is a fact because the beer is aged with French oak flakes, which can be felt in the taste of this drink.

Początkowo myślałem, że płatki dębu w piwie to tylko chwyt marketingowy, ale jednak nie. To fakt bo piwo leżakowane jest z płatkami francuskiego dębu, co wyczuwa się w smaku tego trunku.

But let's get back to the tortillas. Its basic ingredient is red beans. Unfortunately, it's not very popular in my country, so I had to use canned beans. It didn't turn out too bad.

Ale wróćmy do tortilli. Jej podstawowym składnikiem jest czerwona fasola. Niestety nie jest ona u mnie zbyt popularna, dlatego musiałem posiłkować się fasolą z puszki. Nie wyszło to najgorzej.

This filling meal also includes tomato sauce, minced pork, corn, onion and spices. The whole thing is wrapped in pancake and baked gently in a dry frying pan or in the oven.

W skład tego sytego posiłku wchodzi jeszcze sos pomidorowy, mielone mięso wieprzowe, kukurydza, cebula i przyprawy. Całość zawinięta jest w placek naleśnikowy i podpieczona delikatnie na suchej patelni, lub w piekarniku.

Porter Bałtycki beer is a strong dark beer with an alcohol content of 9%, as can be seen in the photos. The extract has a strength of 21%, which means that the beer is not light.

Piwo Porter Bałtycki to mocne ciemne piwo o zawartości alkoholu 9% co zresztą widać na zdjęciach. Ekstrakt ma moc 21% co powoduje, że piwo nie należy do lekkich.

But its whole secret is the oak flakes, which actually give this drink its characteristic taste. The first impression is that I thought he was drinking wine, not beer. It's probably because of those oak flakes. Nevertheless, the effect was satisfactory, and the beer is worthy of attention.

Ale cała jego tajemnica, to dębowe płatki, które rzeczywiście nadają temu trunkowi charakterystyczny smak. Pierwsze wrażenie jest takie, że wydawało mi się iż pije nie piwo a wino. To prawdopodobnie za sprawą tych dębowych płatków. Niemniej efekt był zadowalający, i piwo jest godne uwagi.

After pouring the chilled beer into the glass, there was virtually no foam, which was a surprise. The taste of the beer is very bitter, with a hint of sweetness and, of course, power.

Po wlaniu schłodzonego piwa do kielicha praktycznie nie pojawiła się piana, co było zaskoczeniem. Smak piwo jest mocno goryczkowaty, z nutą słodyczy no i oczywiście mocy.

The beer is bottom-fermented and consists of barley malts: pilsner, roasted, caramel, barley malt extract, oak flakes, bitter hops and yeast.

Piwo jest dolnej fermentacji, a w jego skład wchodzą słody jęczmienne: pilzneński, palony, karmelowy, ekstrakt słodowy jęczmienny, płatki dębowe, chmiel odmian goryczkowych i drożdże.

This is not the first beer from the "Komes" brewery that I have tested, and I must admit that I have never been disappointed. However, the favorite from this stable is still a beer called "Cherry in beer", it is also a strong ale porter with a characteristic cherry flavor.

To nie jest pierwsze piwo browaru "Komes" które testowałem, i muszę przyznać, że nigdy się nie zawiodłem. Faworytem z tej stajni jest jednak dalej piwo o nazwie "Wiśnia w piwie", to również mocny porter ale o charakterystycznym wiśniowym posmaku.
