আমাদের প্রত্যেকের জীবনেরই একটি লক্ষ্য থাকে। সেটা যে কোনো কিছু হতে পারে। হতে পারে ডাক্তার, এমনকি কারও বা পরিচ্ছন্নতাকর্মী হওয়াও লক্ষ্য হতে পারে।

তবে আমাদের সবসময় একটি ব্যাপারে নিশ্চিত হতে হবে-আমাদের ভেতর যেন আত্মবিশ্বাসটা থাকে এবং কেউ যদি আমাদের কাউকে জিজ্ঞেস করে-তোমার জীবনের লক্ষ্য কী, তখন যেন তাকে খুশি করার জন্য বানিয়ে বানিয়ে কোনো উত্তর না দেই।

• Each of us has a purpose in life. That could be anything. Maybe the goal is to be a doctor, or even someone or a cleaner.

• But we always have to be sure of one thing - to have confidence in ourselves and if someone asks one of us what is the purpose of your life, then we should not give any answer to make him happy.

কিছু মানুষ আমাদের পছন্দ নিয়ে প্রশ্ন তুলতে পারে; কিন্তু তাতে কখনোই আশা ছাড়লে চলবে না। কিছু মানুষ সবসময় তাদের ছেলেমেয়েদের ডাক্তার অথবা প্রকৌশলী হতে প্রভাবিত করে অথবা যেসব চাকরিতে বেতন বেশি সেসব চাকরিজীবী হতে বলে। আমাদের জীবনের লক্ষ্য উচ্চ বেতনের চাকরি হতে পারে, তবে তা যেন সমাজ উন্নয়নে সহায়ক হয়। হ্যাঁ, চিকিৎসক অবশ্যই একটি সম্মানজনক পেশা। কিন্তু মানুষ শুধু চিকিৎসকদের উচ্চ আয়ের দিকেই নজর দিয়ে থাকে। আমাদের উচিত চিকিৎসকের দক্ষতা, রোগ সারানোর ক্ষমতা, সুস্বাস্থ্য ধরে রাখা ইত্যাদির দিকে বেশি গুরুত্ব দেওয়া।

আমরা যে কাজই করি না কেন, তাতে লজ্জা পাওয়া উচিত নয়। কারণ যতক্ষণ এটি সমাজের জন্য সুফল বয়ে আনবে, ততক্ষণ এটি ভালো কাজ। হ্যাঁ, পরিচ্ছন্নতাকর্মী হতে চাওয়া হয়তো সবচেয়ে ভালো লক্ষ্য নয়, তবে এটি সবচেয়ে নিকৃষ্ট লক্ষ্যও নয়। যখন ৫ থেকে ৮ বছর বয়সি শিশুদের কেউ জিজ্ঞেস করে, তুমি বড় হয়ে কী হতে চাও, তখন সবাই একটি অভিন্ন উত্তর দেয়-‘ডাক্তার হতে চাই’। পরে তারা আবিষ্কার করে আসলে তারা কী হতে চায়। এবং এটাই স্বাভাবিক।

বিভিন্ন বিষয়ে আগ্রহী হওয়া মোটেও খারাপ কিছু নয়। আবার শুধু আগ্রহী হওয়া মানে এটা বোঝায় না যে আমরা ওই বিষয়টিতে খুব দক্ষ। কারও হয়তো ঐতিহাসিক বিষয়গুলোর প্রতি আগ্রহ বেশি, সেসব পড়তে ভালো লাগে; কিন্তু তার দক্ষতা আসলে গণিতে। এটাও স্বাভাবিক একটি ব্যাপার। ১০ থেকে ১৬ বছর বয়সকে বলা হয় শিশুদের ‘উন্নয়নের বছর’। এ সময়েই তারা আবিষ্কার করতে পারে তারা কী পছন্দ করে এবং কী চর্চা করতে তাদের ভালো লাগে।

লক্ষ্যে পৌঁছতে হলে আমাদের অনেক পরিশ্রম করতে হবে। কিন্তু ধৈর্য হারানো চলবে না। মনে রাখতে হবে, দীর্ঘ সময় ধরে কাজ করতে পারা আমাদের জন্য একটি চর্চার বিষয়। সবশেষে শুধু এটুকু বলি-কারও হৃদয় যা বলে সে তা-ই যেন শোনে, আর আল্লাহর কাছে প্রার্থনা করে। জীবনে একদিন সে সফল হবেই-এই বিশ্বাস রাখতে হবে।

Translation:

• Some people may question our choice; But it will never give up hope. Some people always persuade their children to be doctors or engineers or to be employed in higher paid jobs. The goal of our life may be a high paying job, but it should help in the development of the society. Yes, physicians are certainly a respectable profession. But people only look at the high income of doctors. We should pay more attention to the skills of the doctor, ability to cure the disease, maintaining good health, etc.

• We should not be ashamed of what we do. Because as long as it brings benefits to the society, it is a good deed. Yes, trying to be a cleaner may not be the best goal, but it is not the worst. When one of the 5 to 6 year olds is asked what you want to be when you grow up, everyone gives the same answer - 'I want to be a doctor'. Later they discover what they really want to be. And that's normal.

• Being interested in different things is not a bad thing at all. Again, just because we are interested does not mean that we are very good at it. Some may be more interested in historical subjects, they like to read; But his skills are actually in mathematics. This is also a normal thing. The age of 10 to 18 years is called the 'year of development' of children. Only then can they discover what they like and what they like to practice.

• We have to work hard to reach the goal. But do not lose patience. Remember, being able to work for a long time is a matter of practice for us. In the end I just say this - let him hear what his heart says, and pray to Allah. You have to believe that one day you will succeed in life.
