Hey, this is my first post on BLurt, I hope you'll like me. I am passionate about nature, mainly mushrooms, but not only, and travel. 😀

The silky sheath

Another interesting fungus, but arboreal is the silkworm sheath. Its name also comes from the structure of the fungus, because the cap resembles silk to the touch and shiny in appearance.

the fungus is quite rare and is mostly white in color. However, this mature specimen is intensely purple in color. The hat can reach large sizes, even up to several dozen centimeters.

Hemileccinum

This species of fungus belongs to the boletus and is most common in beech forests. It is becoming rarer in Europe, but it is not under protection. Its name originates from the cap, which is intensely pleated and can reach up to 15-18 cm in diameter. This specimen was less than 8 cm in diameter.

The color of the cap changes with age, in young fruiting bodies it is yellowish brown, and becomes brown with age. The surface is as if covered with suede.

The tubes of this fungus, as you can see in the photos, are yellow and are often the food of small snails, which is visible in the form of deep holes.

The leg is white, full inside, quite hard, while the flesh is yellow, with a slightly mushroom taste and smell.

It is an edible mushroom and can be found in early summer. It usually grows singly in calcareous soils in deciduous forests until late autumn.

Pine boletus

The mushroom is rare, edible, but its flesh has no special flavor.

The last young pine boletus appeared on the forest road. it is also an increasingly rare sight in the forest. Or clay forests, mostly pine. It is a very tasty edible mushroom, prepared in many ways.
