in blurtlife •  2 years ago

We are just one game away from crowning the t20 world cup winner for the next two years. As I continuously shared most of the teams played extremely well. And we could witness a great performance from the players as well. So, considering them, ICC(International Cricket Council) has announced 9 shortlisted players' potential for the man of the series. So, fans get the chance to vote for them and select the winner.

There are 3 players from England, 2 from India and Pakistan, and one from Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. Overall 5 nominees from the finalists. So, let's see who they are and their performances in the tournament. These are not according to any order, just the way ICC released the names,

1.Virat Kohli - India, 294 runs in 6 games(Avg- 98.67, SR-136.41, 50s- 4, Highest score - 82)

Leading run scorer in the tournament. And he has won this award twice before, the only man to do that. His form in the tournament helped India to come to the Semis. He scored 4 fifties in 6 matches and won 2 mom awards. His inning in the run chase against Pakistan is the best one for me.

2.Suryakumar Yadav - India, 239 runs in 6 games ( Avg- 59.75, SR- 189.68, 50s- 3)

The no. t20 batter in the world, showed his class in the tournament. He has unorthodox shots all around the gound and played without any pressure. He won 2 mom awards.

3.Shadab Khan - Pakistan, 10 wickets in 6 games, Economy- 6.59

The most consistent and best performer for Pakistan in this edition as an allrounder. He won 2 mom awards against NED and SA. He scored a 22-balls fifty in the SA match.

4.Shaheen Afridi - Pakistan, 10 wickets in 6 games, Economy- 6.17, Best bowling - 4-22

Left arm pacer, carried a lot of hopes leading the Pakistan bowling attack. Eventhough he was wicket-less in the first matches, found his form later. His stunning attack against BAN with 4 wickets, made him the MoM.

5.Sam Curran - England, 10 wickets in 5 games, Economy- 7.28, Best Bowling - 5-10

England's front line fast bowler in this series. His death bowling performance in the tournament is phenominal. His 5 wicket haul against Afghanistan is the best bowling stat in t20 for England, and he won the mom award in the match.

6.Jos Butler - England, 199 runs in 5 games ( Avg- 49.75, SR - 143.17, 50s- 2, Highest score - 80).

England's newly-appointed captain is on the list. He is in terrific form in white-ball cricket for the past few years. The inning he played against India to seal a 10-wicket win in the semis will remember for a lifetime. He won the man of the match award in Newzealand match.

7.Alex Hales - England, 211 runs in 5 games (Avg- 52.75, SR-148.59, 50s- 2, Highest score - 86)

Man of the match in the semis, scoring 86 runs. He was not on the team for years due to various discipline issues. But then he performed again well in other tournaments, but still not in the world cup squad at the start. But due to injuries of Roy, he was called to the team and he showed his worth with a bang. That's the true meaning of a comeback.

8.Sikandar Raza - Zimbabwe, 10 wickets, 219 runs in 8 games (Avg- 27.38, SR-147.97, 50s- 2, Highest score - 86)

The Zimbabwe warrior Raza is the pioneer in the crazy performance of the team. He won 3 MoM awards. He was on the spot in all three departments. Fifth highest run scorer and wicket taker. Best allrounder of the tournament.

9.Wanindu Hasaranga - Sri Lanka, 15 wickets in 8 games, Economy- 6.41

No. 01 t20 bowler, leading wicket taker of the tournament for the consecutive time. He has been an asset to Sri Lanka, in the last few years.

So, here is the list. In my opinion Raza was prominent in this world cup. Being in an associated team, he showed his potential well to big teams. When giving edge to the finalists, Sadab Khan and Sam Curren are top on the list. But as this is based on fan votes most probably Kohli will win the title. Anyway, this is an elegant list. So, let's wait for the end of the tournament.

Until the next time!

Thank You!
Best Regards!
