Despite being a crucial part of our overall well-being, mental health is sometimes disregarded. But we should understand that it's important as physical health, sometimes even more. Our emotional, psychological, and social well-being are all included in our mental health.
Why is this so much important for us? It influences our daily thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. If our mental health is in a good shape, we can do our work productively, think clearly, be more capable of dealing with life's obstacles, and ultimately live a happy life.
Self-care is crucial for preserving excellent mental health. The actions we do to look after our physical, mental, and emotional well-being are referred to as self-care. Self-care is giving ourselves the time and attention we need to take care of our needs. It is crucial for lowering stress levels and enhancing general well-being.

Self-care can be as easy as setting aside a short amount of time each day to meditate, read, or go for a walk. Or else, it can go up to regular exercise, getting enough sleep, and getting used to a balanced diet. Self-care, in whatever form it may take, is about making time for oneself and is crucial to preserving healthy mental health.
Self-care activities include, for instance:
- Mindfulness and meditation techniques
- Physical exercise and activity
- Healthy food
- Adequate rest/time in nature
- Reading or listening to music -
- Keeping in touch with loved ones

Mental health is a complex topic, and there is no exact solutions to everything. However, by understanding the various aspects of mental health and self-care practices, we can take steps to improve our mental well-being and lead happier and healthier lives.
