It is interesting, to me anyway, to see the uproar caused by the elections held in Russian occupied territories in Ukraine. Of course the elections are sham and should not be accepted, but I find it ironic and highly hypocritical that the USA and the EU should be talking so much about fraudulent elections.
I am from Honduras as you might know and do know a little about fraudulent elections. The most recent was in 2017 when the incumbent had the counting stopped and miraculously overcame a 5% difference when only about 25% of the vote was not counted and the areas that were not yet in were areas he probably lost. This caused chaos in the country, riots, gasings, deaths.
And then after about a month the USA decided the elections were good and the OAS and EU just went along with USA and also accepted the outcome. Now this was after the head of EU observers a Portuguese lady named Marisa Matias had said the elections were fraudulent, after the OAS demanded the elections be held again and a lot of US congressmen demanded the elections be called fraudulent.
So they just went along with there boss the USA and we had to stand a quasi dictator for nearly four years, a dictator who was helped security wise by the USA so he couldn't be ousted. Funny thing is the opposition won last year and in February the USA demanded our dictator be extradited because since 2005 he had been involved in drug trafficking. Amazing right, but it gets even better the US administration also admitted the 2017 elections were fraudulent and probably the 2013 ones also were.
So actually I am very skeptical of whatever the US government does I do not trust them at all, and it is not a party thing, administrations from both parties backed a man they knew was a criminal, so I just don't think there is that much moral high ground to go back on and talk down Russia, both countries are nearly the same thing. Except of course the US is a paragon of "democracy".
