I am currently still in New York visiting my Mother who has Alzheimer's & dementia and stopped eating about 3 weeks ago. She was on an IV drip for just over 2 weeks and was taken off 2 days after I got to Long Island, New York. We have been able to get her to start eating small amounts of ensure & pureed food over the last couple of days which has surprised everyone including all her nurses and she has been responding to us but is still unable to speak.
We are still unsure if she might recover or not... but did get some more good news today, Mum was trying to get out of bed so the nurse put her in a wheelchair for the morning and she hung out with the group in the activity room for the first time in 3 weeks and they were able to feed her too.
I put together some old family photo's into a video with her favorite song from when she lived in West Virginia and she hum's along to the music while watching the pictures on my phone.

Fingers crossed 🤞 for her recovery.
What a lovely post, you must be so strong for all that is to come in the future, I hope life gives you much more time with your beautiful mom. ❤️
Thank you, I'm hoping for the best outcome too. 🖖
I hope your mom's health will improve. Btw. In my country people used to say that it's good to die in the place where you were born. I think that's what John Denver is singing about. As a person who has had a "Near-death experience" I believe that death is just another thing that system is using to scare us. Dr. Zelenko explained in a funny way what death is

Thank you, and I agree, death is not the end... 🖖

So true ...only another transformation
Dementia, the strange thief in the day and night that robs one of all dignity before it is done. You are graced with the bits and pieces of time that flash for you. I came from Long Island, East Meadow, and when I got sick no one in my family wanted to do anything for me. I moved to New Mexico and I write and paint. I traveled all over the west until this past year when I could go no longer. Believe me caring for her is hard but you are giving her the greatest gift she can ever get. Blessings, faith and strength for you and your family.
Thank you for you're beautiful artwork and thoughtful insight. 🖖
I've been away, hope your mum is doing well. She looks like she is happy. The blanket shows so much love, she is very lucky.
