If anyone had let me take careful risks as a child and guided me against social judgement over my actions, that was my Mom. I was naive to her, gave her series of heart palpitations. But... she proved to be the mother worth her salt.
What's the sacrifice of a mother? Mothers offer their children to be destroyed by the world. A child is going to be born, will suffer, will have trouble in life, will have illnesses, will face his failures and catastrophes and will die. A mother who is awake knows that and says, "perhaps he/she is going to live in a way that will justify their suffering, trouble, e. t. c." This is what makes a mother worthy of the statue of greatness.
Such mothers are not blind, they know what's going to happen and didn't get pregnant in one night of half-drunk idiocy, but consciously, knowing what's to come.
The Biological Portrait of a mother shows her saying, "go out there and pick up your lumps because you're tough enough", she doesn't say "stay down there in your bedroom brooding away because the world is unfair and treating you badly, and you're suffering too much." A mother says, "yes there's a lot of suffering out there but you're a lot more tougher than you think you are." Thus, her trust in her son's strength is not shattered by torture or death. That is the model of an honourable mother. Mom lets her son go out there against the serpentine predators, her child gets broken and betrayed, and her child learns.
I don't know if this is the definition of a perfect Mom, but I know for sure the opposite it false. Mothers are really more than they look. ❤️
