Building task achivement and problem solving skills in the students.

In complete contrast to my scope, I have been assigned to take charge of beginners this time. I usually teach higher semesters as my expertise are in large scale projects. This is not new, but its quite tricky for me, as the new commerce are too raw to deal with.

Architecture is a 5 years course in India, and we teach them everything related to architecture in these 5 years of time, starting from how to hold and sharp the pencil. It's a very vast field.

To break the odds of regular teaching methods, I thought I'll try something different, which will promote students problem solving skills within the given limitations.

They had to represent principals of design through their compositions. The task here was, they were given limitation of depicting all of them using only one material. They had to make different compositions representing different principals but the material should remain the same.

I asked them to first come up with the sketches of what compositions they want to create and then convert them into the final outcome using the materials.
